The title "Tensile Strength" refers to the physical property of a material, its breaking point, or its resistance to stress. The silos are a resilient industrial relic, conjuring images of toil and labor as the silos retain their raw patina of the walls covered with graffiti and scratches. Metaphorically speaking, the title also refers to the stamina of the artist who is wrestling with a daunting medium.
